Calgary housing market

       Calgary housing

Sights of an economic slowdown in Alberta are starting to appear.  A weak real estate market in Calgary and waning consumer confidence are early manifestations of collapsing crude prices in Canada’s oil industry . The province’s status as a jobs juggernaut may also be dissipating for some. In a separate report last week, Canada Mortgage and Housing staff reported new housing construction starts in January fell 10 % in the western provenience  of Canada. .

I love the western parts of Canada including the mountain areas. It is also good to hear that oil prices are dropping which is good for your cars. Softening housing my  not be the right idea for the economy in this situation.

Ottawa houses

Joe Oliver says Ottawa looking at hot housing market as ministers meet

Finance Minister Joe Oliver kicks off two days of meetings with his provincial and territorial counterparts on Monday. Finance Minister Joe Oliver kicks off two days of meetings with his provincial and territorial counterparts on Monday. The two-day gathering is also expected to reveal the latest figures on federal transfer payments to the provinces as well as explore the effect of plunging oil prices. On his way to the first meeting, Oliver was also asked about Canada's rising household debt and the country's potentially overvalued housing market — two risks repeatedly raised by the Bank of Canada. "In terms of household debt and the real-estate market, this is a subject, of course, we're monitoring very carefully," said Oliver, who reiterated his position that there is no housing bubble. "So, we're not going to take any dramatic steps in that regard, but we may take some moderate steps." Oliver did not elaborate and added his department had yet to make a decision on this subject.

Tickets or Christmas Presents

Tickets

The reactions to the gifts include astonishment, applause, hugs and tears.
Once a Lowell Michigan Police officer pulls over a driver, he or she asks what the driver wants for Christmas. Other officers and volunteers are carefully listening through an open radio and quickly shopping for the gifts at a nearby store. The gifts are delivered during the traffic stop. The reactions to the gifts include astonishment, applause, hugs and tears. Officers pin it all on “radios, sleighs, magic elves and stuff. The video, posted Tuesday, is closing in on 1 million views on you tube.
I think that this is such a good idea for police officers to do during the holidays. My dad is a police officer and I sent him a link to this and he thought it was a good idea to do.

Auto sales rise 3.6% setting November record in Canada

 car sales increase 3.6%

Dodge Ram pickup trucks are lined up for sale at a dealership. Chrysler led vehicle sales in November, with demand for pickup trucks strong.
Canadian drivers looking for a new truck help push auto sales up 3.6% in November to set a record for the month, according to DesRosiers Automotive Consultants. Meanwhile, DesRosiers noted that sales through the first 11 months of the year were just shy of the total sold in all of last year. "It is a rare occurrence to be just 24,901 units short of last year's overall total in November but here we are," the firm said in a note to clients." - Rob ( dealers manager)

I love the fact that Canadians are buy quarter tone pick up trucks. I think that the sales should always be that high considering all the work that Canadians do.

Normal life is no longer normal

Sarah Turpin and her children'The new normal' isn't easy for family of Sarah Turpin

The husband of a Newfoundland and Labrador woman who died earlier this fall just a week after being diagnosed with cancer says it has been a challenge adjusting to the "new normal" of life without his partner, the mother of their three young children. Peter Russell and his wife, Sarah Turpin were busy working parents in Bay Roberts in Conception Bay .Daughter Rowan will turn three on New Year's Eve. Twins Ellis and Grant will turn two next month. After his wife's sudden death, Russell is busier than ever.
This is really unfortunate for Russel and his three young kids. Kids are getting crazier all the time and Russel will have his hands full for the next few years.

Ferguson aftermath

Ferguson Aftermath

Missouri National Guard reinforcements helped contain the latest protests in Ferguson, preventing a second night of the chaos that led to arson and looting after a grand jury decided not to indict the white police officer who killed an unarmed black 18-year-old., a case that has inflamed racial tensions in the U.S. Since the grand jury's decision, thousands from Los Angeles to New York have rallied behind the refrain "hands up, don't shoot," and drawing attention to other police killings. As the tension in Ferguson eased somewhat, officer Darren Wilson broke his long public silence, insisting on national television that he could not have done anything differently in the confrontation.

The thing is when it comes to police shootings, you would rather be safe then sorry if your the police officer. It is really to bad that the police officer did kill a unarmed black person.
